Size Guide
At Orbinelle, we want you to feel confident in your order. Because our collection includes everything from structured evening gowns to flowing bohemian sets, fit can vary significantly from one piece to the next. This guide will help you understand how to measure yourself accurately and how to interpret the specific size information provided on each product page.
Understanding Our Size Systems
Most of our dresses and two-piece sets are offered in standard letter sizes, ranging from XS to 3XL. However, please note that a size "M" in one style may not have the exact same measurements as a size "M" in another. We do not use a single universal size chart for the entire store. Always rely on the specific size table listed directly on the product page you are viewing.
How to Take Accurate Measurements
To find your best fit, you will need a soft measuring tape. Measure over your undergarments or a form-fitting base layer. Keep the tape snug against your body but not tight, and ensure it remains parallel to the floor without twisting.
- Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape level under your arms and across your back.
- Waist: Find the narrowest part of your torso (usually just above your belly button). If your waistline is not clearly defined, measure at the point where your body bends naturally when you lean to the side.
- Hips: Measure around the widest part of your hips and buttocks, keeping your feet together.
- Length: For dresses and skirts, measure from the highest point of your shoulder (where a strap would sit) down to the desired hemline. Note that maxi lengths can vary between styles, so check the specific garment length listed on the product page.
Body Measurements vs. Garment Measurements
It is important to distinguish between your body measurements and the finished garment measurements.
Body Measurements refer to the actual size of your body. Garment Measurements refer to the physical dimensions of the dress or top itself.
On some Orbinelle product pages, you may see a size chart that lists "Bust" or "Waist" ranges (e.g., "32-33 inches"). These typically represent the body measurements the garment is designed to accommodate. On other pages, you might see specific "Length" or "Top Length" measurements; these are garment measurements. Always compare your own body measurements against the recommended body ranges provided for that specific item.
Choosing Your Size
Once you have your measurements, locate the size chart on the product page. Compare your bust, waist, and hip measurements to the ranges listed for each size.
If you are between sizes: Consider the style and fabric. For structured, fitted evening gowns (such as our beaded mesh or satin styles), you may prefer to size up for comfort, especially if you plan to wear shapewear or if the fabric has little stretch. For flowy, relaxed pieces like our bohemian halter sets or empire-waist maxi dresses, you might choose the smaller size for a more fitted look or the larger size for more drape.
Note: Some product pages may explicitly recommend sizing up if you are between sizes. Always follow the specific guidance provided on that item's page.
